2. Two ways to feel better

There are two strategies at the heart of this Program. Here's the first one.

One way is to expand your nervous system so stress and strong emotions are easier to handle.

You'll be doing this "nervous system work" when you use the body-based tools to change how you feel—in the moment—into a more positive or neutral state.

You'll discover that what is stressful today may not feel stressful tomorrow when your nervous system is working better.  

Each time you repeat this action, your brain is making new neuropathic connections. With enough connections your brain becomes "re-wired".

That "rewiring" means you're different on the inside—and you feel a lot better!

3. Two ways to feel better

Here's the second strategy.

The second way to feeling better is to work through your triggers.  

Working through a trigger means getting to the root of the pain and creating a healing experience for your brain to "learn" from.

When you're successful at working through a trigger, you're no longer suddenly unsettled by it.

Indeed, you feel a sense of closure.

Truthfully, working through your triggers is a lifelong project 🙂

However you can feel so much better just being able to work through two or three well-chosen triggers.

By the way, and it's a very important point . . . you need to be proficient working with the nervous system tools (called Self-Regulating Techniques) otherwise the Trigger Techniques are less effective.

4. Gently sense into the "not-so-nice"

What's the basis for how these techniques work?

This Program is about making it easy to face our fears.

Briefly, the techniques help you to face into discomfort using baby steps.

In doing so and with practice—using the right conditions that you'll learn about—you're training your brain to tolerate 'not-so-nice' feelings and sensations.

That's because when the brain learns to tolerate more discomfort it transforms it in the background so you don't even feel it. Yes, very cool!

5. Get the most from this Program: Balance the coursework with doing

This Program emphasizes reading/watching/listening and DOING. To get the most out of it, balance the amount of material you're absorbing with doing the exercises.

Some enter DeCoding for help with anxiety or depression. Others come here for help with triggers and emotional issues.

9. One last question . . .
